Who's 50 feet tall and made out of Swedish Meatballs? Phoenix's own Midnight Movie Mamacita. OK well that's actually not true. She's neither 50 foot tall nor is she made of some European delicacy but she is one of the smartest, hardest working, most driven and passionate people it's ever been my extreme pleasure to personally know. Mamacita (some call her Andrea) makes her home in Tempe's MadCap Theatre where she shows some hilarious (and some hilariously bad) movies. I first met Andrea a few years ago when I went to one of her late night screenings (I think the movie was Q The Winged Serpent). Andrea's screenings are events in themselves with audience participation encouraged, in fact, demanded by the Mamacita herself. Games are played, quizzes, commentaries are hurled at the screen by members of the audience, it's a whirlwind of fun and a great place to meet new friends. Visit her website here.
